How to Win on a Coin Pusher Machine?
1. Time your insert
The most important tip: Make sure your inserted coin lands behind the coins on the playfield and not on top of them. Otherwise you won't push any coins forward.
For most machines, the best moment to insert coins is when the sliding tray has moved IN almost all the way. It takes some time for the coin to land on the playfield. Always find the right moment before inserting a lot of coins.
2. Watch Out for Hidden Holes
Most coin pushers have a hidden hole on both sides of the playfiels. Coins slide into those holes barely noticeable, and have a huge effect on the win-ratio.
Coins slide through the path of least resistance, so when there is a heavy coin stack or tower in the middle of the playfield, more coins will be pushed towards the sideholes.
When multiple coins fall off the moving tray, this creates more forward pushing force. So it often helps inserting multiple coins rapidly.
3. Aim for the edge
So you want as many coins as possible to fall off the moving tray at the same time. Here's how you do that:
If you think that 1 or zero coins will fall off the moving tray, insert just 1 coin. Hopefully, this will push the other coins more towards the edge.
If you think that multiple coins will fall off the moving tray, insert multiple coins.
This way, you can have more control over the coin flow on the entire playfield.
4. Don't bump!
When that prize just won't fall down, or when you're almost out of coins, you might feel tempted to give the machine a bump.
In arcade venues, all coin pushers have a built in tilt-system with a closing hatch. Any coins or prizes that fall down after a bump, will be lost.
And with your home arcade coin pusher, you don't want to get a prize you didn't earn. You're better than that!
